Family in New Providence is looking for a full-time nanny for their 6 and 4-year-old girls to begin at the end of August or the beginning of September; however, the start date is flexible for the right candidate. Ideal nanny:

Ideal nanny is patient, caring, reliable, flexible, engaging, and able to teach young children and use an iPad/laptop for class work. Ideal nanny will provide supplemental support for 1st grader’s schooling and teach 4-year-old. Nanny will help facilitate any extracurricular activities that are possible with COVID-19 restrictions. Looking for someone who is engaging...someone who knows how to make learning fun is a huge plus! 

Duties include:

Picking up/dropping off at school across the street. Basic tidying up after children. Preparing snacks and meals for children. Preparing meals for entire family would be a plus but is not required.

About the children:

The oldest child is six years old and will be in school half day and then home for virtual learning the other half. She loves art, science, and swimming. Other interests are soccer, science projects, LEGOs, and arts and crafts. She is sensitive, caring, intelligent, shy, and curious. The younger child is 4 years old and is loving, easygoing, considerate, silly, and intelligent. She enjoys swimming and exploring the world around her.  

About the family:

Mom is caring, energetic, organized, and proactive. Dad is a laid-back, loving father who sometimes feels unimaginative, but together they are awesome parents! The girls generally get along well. When discipline is needed, the parents try to offer choices and limit yelling. They avoid time out unless absolutely necessary. The home has two cats (no pet care required but must be pet friendly).

Parents are friendly, hard-working, and place a high priority on education.  It is important that Child keeps up with schoolwork, whether virtual or in person. They prefer to validate big emotions while helping Child work through them. They will, however, implement consequences when necessary.
