Note from the founder

Over the past 15 years, I have had the pleasure of working in childcare as a babysitter, nanny, youth director, Family Placement Coordinator (for a competing agency) and now as the owner of The Nanny Smith Agency. I have had the privilege of meeting dozens of different families from vastly different backgrounds and cultures, and at this phase in my life, after having met hundreds of children, I can tell you that at the root of every nurturing home is love. This root of love is what makes me want to work in childcare every single day.

I understand the love that is shared between a parent and a child and a child and their caregiver. I understand the fear that parents have when they have to leave their children behind, whether it is for a few hours or for a couple of days at a time. The balance of keeping a home and running a home is not an easy task. I remember my mother taking on this duty and often times in my childhood she would bring up the phase “it takes a village.” As the owner of The Nanny Smith, it is my every day goal to make sure that whatever village we are helping you create is a safe and welcoming one so that your child will grow up to be strong. 

My focus and belief in the community is that the world becomes a better place when we all work together. A part of my mission will not only be to help individual families build their village, but to fund-raise for great causes that might need our help.
