Details:
Family in Jersey City with 5-year-old child is looking for a full-time nanny to start at the end of August or the beginning of September; however, start date is flexible for right fit. Typical schedule will be Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Looking for someone to make a minimum one-year commitment (preferably more).
COVID responsibilities:
Nanny MUST be someone who is honest, strict regarding social distancing, and willing to have limited outside contact. Nanny must take strict precautions if going to grocery store or any place where socializing is likely. Mutual transparency about matters of health and safety is of the utmost importance. No public transportation is required or permitted. Nanny must have her own vehicle, and Family will reimburse for any on-the-job car expenses. When traveling with Child, both Nanny and Child must wear protective gear.
Ideal nanny:
Looking for a nanny who is loving and caring and who can fulfill the dual role of educator and playmate. Montessori or education background is a plus but not required, as long as nanny is education-minded. Looking for someone who is engaging and makes learning fun! Someone who is creative and willing to do fun things like science experiments, art projects, and imaginative play. Someone who will encourage learning and seek new educational opportunities for Child. Ideal caregiver is fun, upbeat, patient, caring, and creative.
Duties include:
Meal preparation for Child, Child's laundry, and basic tidying up after Child. Salary will remain consistent throughout the year, whether school is in session or not. When in session, duties will include picking the child up from school and assisting with homework. If schools remain closed, duties will include assisting the child with virtual learning, encouraging reading, and seeking supplemental virtual learning programs/projects.
About the child:
Child is five years old and is shy, sensitive, sweet, smart, and occasionally strong-willed. Child loves gymnastics and Legos.
About the family:
Parents are friendly, hard-working, and place a high priority on education. It is important that Child keeps up with schoolwork, whether virtual or in person. They prefer to validate big emotions while helping Child work through them. They will, however, implement consequences when necessary. The home has one dog (no pet care required but must be pet friendly).
Benefits:
Full-time salaried position whether or not the child attends full-day school. Nanny will also be paid for overtime, vacation days, sick days, time off, and holidays. Family will reimburse for any on-the-job car expenses. Safely first household.
