This family in North Brunswick is seeking a full-time nanny for their 1-year-old. The typical schedule is Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm and Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:00 am until 6:30 pm. Occasional flexibility for extended hours is ideal.
Duties include:
The child is a 27 weeker micro preemie and has hydrocephalus and a programmable VP shunt in his head. Mom will provide guidance to Nanny on general do's/don'ts around the shunt.
Helping monitor the child’s general condition to stay alert for shunt malfunction and protecting his head from any hard falls. Providing a safe play environment. Tidying up after the child and doing his laundry. Preparing basic snacks and meals. This family has a puggle, but no pet care is required.
Ideal nanny:
This family’s ideal nanny is nurturing, patient, organized, experienced, and a non-smoker. They can develop the child’s daily schedule and help him reach developmental milestones. Occasionally they may virtually attend an hour long physical therapy session for the child’s health. Current flu and Covid vaccinations are required. No driving is required.
About the family:
This 1-year-old is a sweet and fearless bundle of energy. Twice a week he attends physical therapy to work on his gross motor and fine motor skills.
Mom and Dad are first-time parents and love going on family outings. They are introducing gentle discipline/boundaries and limit screen time. Both parents have Type A personalities and work in the same industry full-time. Mom works from home 3 days per week. Dad is a smoker, but only smokes outside the home. Both parents are vaccinated.
