A family in Sparta is seeking a live-out, part-time homeschool teacher/nanny for their two children, ages 9 years old and 7 years old. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday for three to four hours each day. Ideally, these hours would be during the typical school day, but the family is flexible, based on best fit.
Duties include:
Teaching all basic school subjects to the children, including, but not limited to: Math, Reading, Science, etc. Creating curriculum and lesson plans designed around the children. Minimal childcare is required, although the parents do expect the teacher to care for the children as needed.
Ideal nanny/educator:
The ideal teacher for this home is energetic, fun, and takes initiative. They should be a dynamica educator who is able to juggle two different grade levels. They must be caring and kind, but also firm. They should reward achievement without punishing the children for struggling. The family is willing to hear feedback from the educator about how to structure the educational day. Pay will increase for a candidate with some educational background or similar relevant experience.
About the family:
This 9-year-old is artsy, fierce, and nice. She loves dancing and crafts. This 7-year-old is extremely sweet and loves sports. He is tough on the outside but emotionally sensitive. Both children are smart and enjoy math. They are good listeners who don’t struggle with any specific subjects. Please note: the family has a third child who will be in daycare during time of care. The educator/nanny will not need to care for the third child.
