Family in Maplewood is looking for a part-time (up to 30 hrs.) nanny for their two children, ages 8 and 2 years old. Typical schedule will be Monday through Friday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm with occasional date night. Potential to extend into summer and become long-term for the right fit.
Duties include:
Transporting to afterschool activities or playdates. Picking up children from school. Preparing basic snacks. Walking children to the park, library, playground when the weather is nice. Supervising outdoor playdates. Loading the dishwasher, cleaning up after snack and playtime.

They will engage their minds, care for their hearts, and keep up with their growing bodies. Looking for an easygoing, playful caregiver who will listen and engage in children’s conversations in order to connect with both children. Ideal caregiver is reliable, responsible, and punctual. They are safety- conscious and able to keep a close eye on a curious, active toddler.
About the children:
This active 8-year-old is creative, assertive, sensitive, funny, and very social. She loves playing outside on the monkey bars, rollerblading, riding her bike and scooter, and playing with neighborhood and school friends. She is creative and loves music and art. She loves to read and do pretend / imaginary play.
This 2-year-old is joyful, sweet, stubborn, curious, and funny. He loves vehicles, books, and being read to. He loves pretend play (cooking). He is very physical and loves active play. He enjoys watching the activity at construction sites! Needs to be closely supervised as he explores and plays.
About the parents:
These parents are readers and thinkers who work in teaching and service professions. They are serious about a lot of things yet don't take themselves too seriously. Children do not use screens; active play is encouraged instead. Family has one cat, but no pet care required.
