More details:
Family in Summit is looking for a part-time nanny to take care of their eight and six year old children starting in the fall. Schedule may vary throughout the school year based on COVID; however, the current projected schedule is Monday through Friday beginning at 12:30 pm and ending at either 5:00 or 6:30 pm, depending on whether parents need to start working from the office again. Parents are somewhat flexible with schedule, as long as it’s consistent, and would guarantee a minimum number of hours regardless of what happens with school.
Duties include:
Basic tidying up after children throughout home such as putting away dishes or toys. Preparing very simple meals for children (fruit, pizza, hot dogs, etc). Must be able to drive, and gas reimbursement will be given if Nanny chooses to use her own vehicle. Occasionally working as a team with parents to complete any task that may arise around the home, such as family’s laundry or last-minute errands.
Ideal nanny...
Looking for someone who is able to engage the children and encourage them to be friendly, well-rounded individuals. Ideal nanny is able to ensure that they progress with remote learning. Some experience in the field of education is a plus but not required, as long as Nanny is invested in the educational future of the children. Ideal nanny will provide encouragement and help with discipline when needed. She is able to create an enjoyable atmosphere even after homework is done. Ideally looking for someone who can stay with the family for years. A nanny who has been previously vaccinated or is willing to be vaccinated is preferred.
About the children:
The eight-year-old is sensitive and thoughtful with a sense of humor. His favorite subjects are Science and Writing. Other interests include Legos, tennis, and drawing. The six-year-old’s favorite subject is “everything!” She has a great combination of enthusiasm and perseverance. She loves to sign and perform once she opens up. They are good kids but are sometimes easily distracted; repeating instructions with a slightly sterner tone usually does the trick.
About the parents/home:
Mother is kind and nurturing. Dad is a bit relaxed. Both are rather organized and are focused on the children's education in light of COVID. There are no pets in the home .
