A family in Montclair, NJ is looking for a full-time, live out caregiver for their three boys, ages 4 years old, 3 years old, and 1 year old. The typical schedule would be Monday through Friday from 7 am to 4:30 pm.
Duties include:
Entertaining the children with various creative activities. Working as a household manager while the children are in school. Cooking basic foods for the children. Basic tidying up after the children, including vacuuming. Completing laundry for the family. Occasionally picking up groceries or needed items from Target. Taking the children shopping for clothes as needed. Meeting any landscaper, plumber, or other repairman who comes to the house and communicating the scope of work needed.
Ideal nanny:
The ideal nanny for this family is kind, patient, and trustworthy. They must be active and able to keep up with three young boys. Nanny must be able to swim. Some college is preferred.
About the children:
This 4-year-old is funny, smart, sweet, and responsible. He loves reading books, learning about whales and dinosaurs, and riding his bike. He will start Jiu-jitsu lessons as soon as he turns 5 and he likes playing with Legos and trains.
This 3-year-old is cute, headstrong, and loving. He is in pre-school 5 days a week. He loves cooking, playing with trains and stuffed animals, and making art. He is still learning to control his emotions and prone to big tantrums. He may start Irish dancing lessons over the next few weeks.
This 1-year-old is energetic, happy, and determined. He loves books and being in water. He wants to do anything his older brothers are doing. His parents are planning to enroll him in a program 3 days a week from 9 to 1 pm (at which time the caregiver can focus on household management tasks).
About the parents:
Dad is playful, loud, and unstructured. Mom is organized, neat, and thoughtful. They try to help the kids ground themselves and manage their emotions, relying on verbal warnings and timeouts if necessary.
Benefits:
Salary plus paid vacation days off, paid holidays off, paid sick days off, and paid personal days off. End of year bonus and travel bonus (if Nanny chooses to travel with the family. This is not required.)
