Family in Chatham is looking for a nanny for their three boys, ages 9 and 6 years old. The typical schedule would be Tuesday to Thursday from 3 p.m. to 7/8 p.m. While the position primarily starts at 3 p.m., occasionally the nanny may need to come in closer to 2:30 p.m. A bonus, but not required, would be an additional evening shift once a month.
Duties include:
Picking children up from school and transporting them to and from soccer practice. Organizing the children’s sports equipment and unpacking their backpacks. Assisting with homework, including reading help, and providing snacks. Coming up with enriching activities when the children do not have sports practice. Help with laundry and tidying, if time allows. May need to pick up groceries which will be ordered online ahead of time. Occasionally feeding the dog and letting the dog into the yard. Every now and then, the nanny may need to pick up the youngest child from daycare.
Ideal nanny:
The ideal caregiver for this home is high energy and secure with establishing themselves as leader of the pack. They are a confident and safe driver, who is comfortable with a lively household full of boys. Experience in a daycare or multi-child household would be a benefit. Education past high school is preferred. Vaccination preferred.
About the children:
This 9-year-old is active, athletic, and responsible. He is kind, caring, and loves socializing with his many friends in the neighborhood. He likes math and loves sports. Occasionally, he needs help with his homework.
These 6-year-old twins are energetic and sporty. The first twin is loving, snuggly, and animated. He likes soccer, lacrosse, and playing outside. He sometimes needs support with reading.
The other twin is generous, intelligent, and inquisitive. He is very strong academically and an advanced reader. He loves Legos.
There are four children in the house, but the littlest one (3 years old) will be in school full day and will rarely need care.
About the parents:
These parents are busy and loving. They want their children to have an enriching school week full of academic support and extracurricular activities. They expect their children to show kindness and respect towards each other, and they correct inappropriate behavior as needed. Rewards, like dessert after dinner, are only available if they show good behavior. Occasionally, they will use time out if a child is having a hard time listening.
