A family in West Orange, NJ is seeking a part-time caregiver for their 7-year-old and 5-year-old children. The typical hours will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
Duties include:
Preparing snacks and meals for the family. Doing the family’s laundry. Shopping for groceries. Picking the children up from school and occasionally driving them to appointments or activities. Helping them with their homework. Playing indoors and outdoors with the children. Running errands to the pharmacy and dry cleaner. Tidying up after the children and doing light housekeeping. General organizing, as needed.
Ideal nanny:
The ideal nanny for this family is punctual, loving, responsible, and honest. She has good problem-solving skills and takes initiative. Looking for a playful, energetic, and physically capable caregiver who can keep up with these active little ones! The ideal nanny is intelligent and has experience with children with ADHD. She has a good driving record and is vaccinated for Covid-19 and the seasonal flu. A plus, but not required, is the willingness to provide occasional additional hours and/or date night care.
About the children:
This 7-year-old is creative, energetic, intelligent, funny, and athletic. His favorite subjects at school are math, art, and reading. He also loves Legos, biking, and baseball. After school, he participates in soccer, basketball, swimming, and art. He has been diagnosed with ADHD.
This 5-year-old is playful, sweet, caring, creative, and kind. At school, she likes reading, music, and art class the most. She dances and does gymnastics after school. Additional favorite activities include crafting, cooking, playing dress-up, and going to the playground.

These parents are responsible, hardworking, caring, organized, loving, and busy! They strive to use positive reinforcement and positive discipline strategies but do not tolerate disrespect, hitting, or inappropriate language. The whole family is vaccinated for Covid-19.
