Family in Chatham is looking for a part-time nanny for their curious 3-year-old child. Ideal schedule will be from 8:00 am until 6:00/7:00 pm, 3 days per week. However, family is extremely flexible and willing to provide 30-34 hours or alter the number of hours for the right fit.
Duties include:
Preparing snacks and warming simple, pre-made meals for the child. Tidying up after her. Bringing her to the playground. Very occasionally, refilling the cats’ food or water. Keeping the child safe, teaching basic life skills, and encouraging her continued development. Nanny vehicle is preferred, but family is flexible and open to providing a vehicle. Willingness to sit through child’s speech therapy sessions is a plus, but not required.
Ideal nanny:
Ideal nanny for this family is warm, caring, patient, engaging, and can meet a child at their level. They can follow instructions but will ask questions if needed. Looking for someone who is flexible, communicative, and has good judgment. CPR/First Aid certification as well as an openness to occasional date night care are a plus, but not required.
About the family:
This 3-year-old child is happy, easygoing, energetic, yet calm. She’s good at taking directions and has greatly improved with speech therapy. She enjoys listening to music and going to the playground. Currently, she attends preschool 3 days per week. In fall she’ll be in school 5 days per week.
These parents are low key, down to earth, and easy going. Communication is valuable to them. They use distraction, validation, and comfort to encourage positive behavior and maintain a calm environment. Screen time is limited to one hour per day. Parents are both vaccinated for Covid-19.
