A family in West Orange, NJ is seeking a part-time caregiver for their 7-year-old and 5-year-old children. The typical hours will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
Duties include:
Preparing snacks and meals for the family and doing their laundry. Picking the children up from school and occasionally driving them to appointments or activities. Assisting them with their homework. Engaging them in indoor and outdoor play. Running errands to the pharmacy, dry cleaner, and grocery store. Tidying up after the children and doing some light housekeeping. General organizing, as needed.
Ideal nanny:
The ideal nanny for this family is punctual, loving, responsible, and honest. She is confident and able to take initiative. Looking for a creative and physically capable caregiver who can keep up with these active little ones! She must be able to balance structure and going with the flow. The ideal nanny has experience with school-age children and with ADHD. She is vaccinated for Covid-19 and the seasonal flu. A plus, but not required, is the willingness to provide occasional additional hours and/or date night care.
About the children:
This 7-year-old is creative, energetic, intelligent, funny, and athletic. His favorite subjects at school are math, art, and reading. He also loves Legos, biking, and baseball. After school, he participates in soccer, basketball, swimming, and art. He has been diagnosed with ADHD.
This 5-year-old is playful, sweet, caring, creative, and kind. At school, she likes reading, music, and art classes the most. She dances and does gymnastics after school. Additional favorite activities include crafting, cooking, playing dress-up, and going to the playground.

These parents are responsible, hardworking, caring, organized, loving, and busy! They strive to use positive reinforcement and positive discipline strategies but do not tolerate disrespect, hitting, or inappropriate language. The whole family is vaccinated for Covid-19.
