Family in Bernardsville, NJ is seeking a full-time nanny for their three children, ages 7, 4, and 2 years old. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 1:30 pm until 8:30 pm (approximately) Occasional overnight care (1-2 times per month) will be needed eventually.
Duties include:
Picking children up from school/preschool. Serving snacks and dinner to the kids and cleaning up afterwards. Getting them ready for bed. Completing errands before school pick up. Basic tidying up after the children. Spending summer afternoons at the town pool, the local playground, or indoors doing activities. Eventually, making appointments for the kids and shopping for their groceries.
Ideal nanny:
This family’s ideal nanny is patient, good natured, loving, positive, and very energetic. They have a strong sense of obligation and responsibility and are able to be flexible with their schedule. Looking for someone who appreciates kids for being kids, even when parents can't see that as clearly. Experience caring for multiple children (3) is preferred. Ideal nanny is comfortable driving locally and working in a loud, “goofy” household!
About the children:
This 7-year-old is thoughtful, sweet, sensitive, cheeky, and hard-headed. His favorite subject is math (but not division!). After school, he does gymnastics and extra PE. He loves Legos, riding his bike and scooter, playing video games, arts and crafts, and camping. Parents encourage him to be a leader to his younger siblings.
This 4-year-old is spirited, smart, challenging, independent, and funny. She loves writing, art, and math. After school, she does gymnastics, dance, and musical theater. She loves to play with her cats, build things, do crafts, play make believe, and have “a girls’ day out”. She can have outbursts but they are mostly for dramatic effect.
This 2-year-old is loving, impatient, loud, curious, and good-humored. He seems to like art and building. He loves music and singing, building, and playing outside. He loves makeup and manicures as much as his sister! The children usually get along
About the parents:
These parents are loving with their children, laid back without formalities, career-driven, and family-focused. When the children act out, the parents use redirection, extra affection, and explanation of why something is wrong or right. When all else fails, the children have solo time in their room to chill out. All except the two youngest are vaccinated. Family has 2 cats and 1 hamster who will very occasionally require feeding. TV/iPads are allowed, but sparingly.
