Family in Short Hills is looking for a nanny for their three children, ages four and two years old, and their baby (due in July). Hours are Monday through Friday from 12:30 pm until 8:30 pm. Rarely, Nanny may be asked to work later and would be compensated for her time.
Additional scheduling:
Summer: Family would like to spend August at their summer house on Long Beach Island and would love Nanny to spend a week or so there with them at the end of August. If not possible, position will start on August 30th or right after Labor Day. Travel: Family takes two vacations per year, one international. Nanny must be a passport holder who is willing to travel with Family. All travel and eating expenses will be covered and separate sleeping quarters provided.
Ideal candidate:
Ideal nanny is an organized, communicative, energetic, helpful, and creative self-starter who can anticipate the family’s needs. Newborn experience preferred. Toddlers do not have screen time, so imaginative play, singing/dancing, outdoor adventures, and exploring are ideal. Looking for caregiver who will take advantage of learning opportunities that arise throughout the day. Ideal candidate can work as a team when adults in the home overlap. Ability to swim is a plus.
Duties include:
Picking children up from school, serving lunch, and transporting to afterschool activities. (Children have memberships to various local attractions). Assisting with nap time. Doing children's laundry and tidying up /vacuuming children's areas. Simple dinner prep for Family. Bringing kids outside and to the playground. Engaging them in imaginative play and interactive games. Occasional trips to grocery store or dry cleaner are possible. Ability to swim a plus.
About the children:
This four-year-old is independent, loving, curious, high-energy, and smiley. He loves music, singing. going to the playground, and riding his tractor and his bike. The two-year-old is independent, determined, confident, smiley, and cuddly. She loves animals (especially dogs), books, coloring, riding in her blue car, and water activities.
About the family:
Parents are full-time working professionals dedicated to career and family. There are no pets in the home. Children get along all the time. Explanations and redirection are used when behavior is inappropriate, and this is usually enough.
