Family in Maplewood is looking for a nanny for their 9-year-old and 6-year-old daughters. While the job will typically be part-time, Nanny will be paid a full-time salary and must remain available full-time in case of snow days, sick days, school vacations, etc. If school is back to full-time (as planned), hours will be Monday to Friday from 2:30 pm until 7:30 pm. If school is part-time, hours will be from 12:00 pm until 5:30 pm.
Ideal candidate:
Ideal candidate is patient, calm, and skilled in conflict resolution. They are nurturing but stern when necessary. They are proactive about arranging playdates and finding local activities. Ideal nanny is flexible, patient, and adaptable to children’s changing needs as they grow. They are comfortable walking a dog and willing to take care of personal appointments outside of work hours. Must be Covid-19 vaccinated.
Duties will include:
…cooking homemade food for the children (typically from scratch, no frozen or canned foods). Scheduling activities as well as providing drop off/ pick up. Doing the children’s laundry. Additional “pluses”, but not required, are doing the family's laundry and picking up dry cleaning. No deep cleaning required but must tidy up after children.
About the parents:
Both parents have been covid-19 vaccinated. They believe that “it takes a village to raise a child” and are looking for a team member. Mom is not a micromanager and will respect what the nanny suggests. Mom is friendly, kind, driven, understanding, and intelligent. Dad is logical, funny, smart, driven, understanding, and kind.
About the children:
Older daughter is 9-year-old. She is silly, funny, sociable, good-natured, and strong-willed. She has a great imagination, a lot of personality. She struggles with anxiety, and it often comes out when she is eating. She needs someone who will recognize the signs and be a calming force.
Younger child is 6-year-old and is a goofy, funny “spitfire” of a redhead. She tends to be loving and adoring towards her nanny. She is highly emotional, both when she is happy and sad. She will push back when she wants her way and needs to be gently pushed in the right direction. The girls love each other and fight like sisters.
Benefits will include:
Over 80% of the year, Nanny will be paid a full-time salary for mainly part-time hours. Paid vacation time, sick days, and holidays.
