Family in Chatham is looking for a weekend nanny for their two children, ages three and newborn, to begin as soon as possible. Family open to either live-in or live-out arrangement. Schedule will generally be Saturdays from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm. Flexibility with times and some Sunday availability preferred.
Additional scheduling: Must be able to do overnight care if parents are traveling. Must be flexible for later nights or earlier mornings. Family willing to work around Nanny’s weekend schedule if given in advance.
Duties include:
Cooking for children only. Doing children’s laundry, vacuuming, and basic tidying up after children. Ideally, Nanny will use own vehicle to transport children, however, Family vehicle available.
Ideal nanny:
Ideal nanny has a calm demeanor, patience, and strong experience with newborns and toddlers. They are willing to come up with new activities for the toddler, take him to playdates, and engage with him at the park. Ideal nanny can calmly and confidently manage a newborn and toddler at the same time. They can also work as a team when parents are home. Nanny must be a non-smoker.
About the children:
Newborn is one month old and is calm, easy, and lovable. Older child is almost three and is happy, strong-willed, energetic, loving, and curious. He is mildly autistic; he lacks expressive communication but has strong receptive skills. Expressive language is progressing as he has speech therapy five times per week. He loves going to the park, being outside, and being around people. He is a very special boy. Discipline not needed as he may resist but will listen. Children get along well.
About the Parents/Home:
Parents are calm and flexible. They have a French Bulldog who will need to be fed if parents are out. Parents will either be in the house, running errands, and/or having date nights.
Benefits:
Salaried position for a minimum of 12 weekend hours. Additional pay for any additional hours, as well as paid vacation days, sick days, time off, and holidays. Parents are flexible and willing to offer paid weekends off. Option to live in or live out; private bedroom if living in.
