Live-in (long-term) nanny needed for Family in Englewood, NJ for their 2 children, ages 4 and 1. Position begins the first week of January. Typical schedule for Nanny will be about 50 hours per week with the option of overtime. Looking for Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to6:00 pm on most days.

Ideally, flexibility with start and end times is preferred, as it is hard to predict how COVID may impact commute times in the future.  Must be taking COVID and general health precautions seriously and must be up to date on all vaccines.

Ideal Nanny:

Most importantly, Family is looking for someone loving, caring, and energetic who will treat the children like family. Looking for a warm person who will help guide their emotional and intellectual development by playing games, doing art projects, reading books, and taking them to playdates and activities (which are deemed safe).

Ideal nanny is someone who will inspire and encourage the children while helping them to meet  developmental milestones. She must be fluent in English. Driver’s license and prior nanny experience is preferred.

Looking for a nanny with a slightly soft approach who will be proactive about helping around the house when time permits. The family always appreciates if a nanny can fill their days with activities and make friends for them.

Duties include:

...Primary focus is the children; all other duties are optional.  Care for children includes: making children’s appointments, basic meal prep for children, and basic tidying up after children. Primary care will be for the younger child.

Children are always the priority; it is okay if housekeeping does not get done. Additional plus (if time permits) is willingness to help with children’s laundry or Family’s laundry, loading dishwasher, etc. while children are sleeping. Post-COVID, Family plans to hire weekly cleaning service for the majority of cleaning.

About the children:

The 4-year-old is in nursery school the majority of the day. She likes gymnastics, soccer, and dance.  She is a kind, smart, friendly, energetic, curious, and incredibly happy child. She loves art, music, dance, sports, reading, and playing games. She loves her baby sister, her friends, animals, etc. She is really happy with any activity.  The 1-year-old is very playful and likes musical toys, crawling, climbing, and singing with others. She loves her big sister and the family dog. Overall she is  happy, bubbly, sweet, engaging, and playful.

About the home:

They are kind, caring, thoughtful parents who love their daughters more than anything and want their home and anyone involved in their care to support their health, safety, and intellectual and emotional development. They are both working parents.

Parents work hard to teach the girls kindness and empathy towards others. They try to manage conflict (primarily for the oldest) by first trying to calmly discuss issues. She often concludes that she has done the wrong thing and will look to apologize and find opportunities to correct her mistakes. Time outs are used on occasion when necessary, but no form of physical discipline will be tolerated.

Benefits:

Salaried position plus overtime. Paid vacation days, paid sick days, paid time off, and paid holidays are included. Nanny’s quarters (room and board) and family vehicle provided.
