More Details:

Family in Bernardsville, NJ is looking for a long-term household manager and nanny for their 5-year-old and 2-year-old children for 30 hours of childcare per week. Primary responsibility would be for their 2 year old.  Schedule is from Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm until June, when the schedule will shift from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Hours could possibly increase but would generally be paid consistently for a minimum of  30 hours.

Future Scheduling notes:

Depending on the COVID situation, the girls will most likely attend summer camp, and the schedule will change to 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Household chores should be completed during camp/school hours in the future. Family is looking for a long-term nanny.  During the following school years, Nanny would ideally be available during school holidays, snow days, and sick days.

 Ideal nanny:

Looking for a fun, energetic, loving, kind, and smart nanny with several years’ experience who will love and care for the children as if they were her own. Ideal nanny is willing and able to play, to get on the ground and get messy with the kids. She must love playing outdoors. Nanny must also be able to manage the chores listed below during children's nap times and/or while children are at school. Ideal nanny will be respectful of the adults in the home and their privacy, as one parent will be working from home. Looking for a nanny who will feel like family and will be as trustworthy as family.

Duties include:

Engaging children in play, making snacks and lunch, supervising naptime routine, etc. Beginning in June 2021, Nanny would prepare dinner for the entire family and clean up after dinner as well.

While the oldest is in school, the younger child takes a mid-day nap for a couple of hours, during which time Nanny can do laundry (fold and put away if possible) and tidy up after morning play, snack, and lunch time. Additional duties are loading and unloading the dishwasher, checking for daily deliveries, and unpacking all packages (almost all shopping for household is done online). Packages will arrive daily. There could be more chores depending on how things develop, but caring for children is the primary responsibility / priority.

About the Children:

The 5-year-old is fun, loving, kind, and very smart. She will be in pre-K from 8:30 am until 3:00 pm. She loves dinosaurs, unicorns, stuffed animals, play dough, coloring, painting, and reading. Favorite activities include skiing, hiking, gymnastics, dance, and soccer.  She also loves the iPad, so limits need to be set on its use with the help of Nanny’s creative engagement with her.

The 2-year-old is so sweet and is just learning about the world around her. She loves Paw Patrol, dinosaurs, reading books, play dough, coloring, painting, and gymnastics. She is beginning to show interest in the iPad, so Nanny will need to consistently distract / engage her with creative, stimulating activities. She will not be attending school this year due to COVID.

About the Home/Parents:

The parents are super friendly, fun, energetic individuals who are also extremely hard workers. Parents both have demanding jobs. When it comes to discipline in the home, Mom tends to be pretty easygoing, and Dad is the disciplinarian. They try to encourage and enforce respect and kindness. Showing respect to themselves, each other, belongings, and nature is a very strong family value.  Please note that parents are currently grieving a recent stillbirth.

Benefits:

Full-time salaried position, whether or not the child attends full-day school. Nanny will also be paid for overtime, vacation days, sick days, time off, and holidays. Family will reimburse Nanny for any on-the-job car expenses. “Safety First” household.
