Doing the child’s laundry and tidying up after him. The family has a parrot, but no pet care is required.

Ideal nanny:

The ideal nanny for this busy working mom will be a partner more so than a babysitter. Looking for someone who is punctual, thoughtful, able to read situations and proceed based on past experience, and sensitive to a child with ADHD (inattentive and impulsive, not hyperactive). Must be willing to do overnights when Mom travels and be flexible if she needs to work late. Ideal caregiver is structured, proactive, and responsible, and positive. They must have the emotional intelligence and empathy necessary to adapt to this child’s shifting needs and to know when it’s time to stop and give a hug.  Must be vaccinated for Covid-19.  Some college is preferred.  Past experience with ADHD a plus.

About the family:

This sweet, huge-hearted 12-year-old is sensitive, funny, and stubborn! His favorite subject in school is math and his least favorite is English. His afterschool activities shift quarterly and include lacrosse, tennis, golf, fencing, ceramics, and horseback riding. He has ADHD and mild anxiety and thrives in a structured environment.  He loves music-everything from Stevie Wonder and Kiss to Eminem and Jay-Z. He likes to dance, too. He has an older sister who is 16 and is at a boarding school in PA.

This divorced mother works from home and travels occasionally. She reinforces positive behavior through a point system and rewards. Negative behaviors are discussed and can result in loss of activities and/or electronics. All members of the family are vaccinated for Covid-19.

Benefits:

Salary plus paid vacation days off, paid holidays off, paid sick days off, and paid personal days off. Full-time pay for part-time work. Option to use a family car. Travel opportunities with family.
