Family in Maplewood, NJ is looking for an after-school nanny. Typical hours for Nanny will be Monday to Friday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, but Family is flexible on schedule for the right fit (willing to increase or decrease the hours based on Nanny’s preference).
Duties include:
Drop off / pick up two girls from in-person school and activities. Prepare basic snacks and cook for the children. Tidy up after children. When time permits, help with meal preparation for the family.
Optional light housekeeping includes emptying the dishwasher, taking out trash, and doing laundry (ideally helping with Family’s laundry). May need to run some household errands. Duties will depend on the final schedule.
Ideal nanny:
Ideal nanny is loving, patient, and calm with the girls. They are comfortable enough around parents to eat their food without having to ask and to speak up for their needs. Ideal nanny will take initiative. They will be able to pick up where Parents leave off and work as a team. Prefer candidate who is COVID-19 vaccinated and/or boosted.
About the children:
Older daughter is creative, expressive, emotive, demanding, and sweet. She loves writing and art. She does theater, dance, gymnastics, and softball as afterschool activities. Younger daughter is loving, funny, creative, sweet, and easygoing. She loves art and dancing. Children usually get along. Both girls are vaccinated.
About the parents:
Parents are supportive, organized, creative, and hardworking. They use short time-outs or short periods of separation to encourage positive behavior. Both parents are vaccinated.
Benefits:
Salary plus paid vacation days off, paid holidays off, and paid sick/personal days off. Family’s vehicle available for use on the job, and Nanny will be reimbursed for gas if personal vehicle is used.
