Family in Morristown is looking for a full-time nanny or manny to care for their two children, ages 11 and 7 years old. Care will primarily be for younger child. Schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:45 am-3:30/4:30 pm. This temporary position is for 5 months with the possibility of extending until end of Summer.
Duties include:
Preparing kids’ snacks and basic tidying up. First grader needs help with virtual schooling and aftercare. Older child may occasionally require a check-in or join in activities after school, but she is mostly independent and has a fairly busy schedule.
Ideal Caregiver:
Ideal caregiver can maintain a calm composure to help younger child navigate stress and maintain a positive outlook. Parents have seen more success with positive motivational techniques such as reward charts, creating games, and using timers. Ideal caregiver will embrace this approach, remain patient, and not become unduly stressed when Child feels emotional or is less cooperative. They will help him navigate his schoolwork and work on proper English grammar and spelling, organizational and time management skills, and basic computer technology skills. Ideal nanny is fun and upbeat and able to engage him in play. They will focus on creating a positive experience and encouraging his motivation to learn by placing an emphasis on true understanding over meeting every deadline or assignment requirement. Reliability is very important to Parents.
Some college education preferred. Pay will increase for nanny with some educational background or similar relevant experience.
COVID Notes:
Both parents are working virtually from home. They are strict with COVID-19 precautions and minimal exposure to those in household is critical.
About the children:
This 7-year-old boy’s favorite subjects include Science and Math. He's a STEM kid who is bright, fun-loving, sweet, and sensitive. He will need help completing schoolwork and staying motivated. This 10-year-old girl is bright, engaging, strong-willed, independent, and sensitive. Typically involved in lacrosse, virtual theater and art, and reading. The children get along very well.

Parents are loving and involved but busy. They are kind, responsible, respectful, and reasonable. They expect reliability, accountability, and patience with their son in return. The family’s goal during this challenging time is to support the children's mental wellness by using positive parenting techniques and limiting strict requirements or disciplinary actions. Benefits:
