Nanny needed for a family with three children in Short Hills. Position will start as soon as possible. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Ideal nanny:
Ideal nanny has a warm, positive, and kind presence but also knows how to discipline children appropriately in order to maintain order. She is hard-working, assertive, proactive, and takes initiative when something needs to be done. She also can sense when it's family time.
Duties include:
Primary responsibility is caring for one or two of the children at a time, but sometimes all three. Other duties include:
- Children’s laundry
- Grocery shopping
- Vacuuming (baby/children’s areas)
- Basic tidying up after children
- Assisting with occasional cooking for family
About the children:
The oldest enjoys playing instruments (guitar and piano), dancing, building with magnet tiles/Legos, and playing various sports. He is happy, silly, rambunctious, compassionate, and affectionate. He will be in full-time summer camp. The 2 year old is joyful, kind, silly, affectionate, charming, and obedient. They will be going to morning school five days a week in the fall. The baby is a pretty easy baby at this point and the children usually get along well.
About the family:
The parents are warm, kind, friendly, family-oriented, and down to earth. Discipline strategies used in the home are "time outs" or removal of privileges, depending upon the circumstances.
